DAEDALUS 100 SHOW
Tickets are now on sale for an event celebrating 100 years of flying at Daedalus.
Flight enthusiasts and members of the community are invited to come along for the celebrations which will take place at Solent Airport at Daedalus on Saturday 16 September from 10am – 4pm.
Visitors can enjoy a static aircraft display showcasing some of Daedalus' old favourites in partnership with local flying associations. There will also be stalls and side shows, a selection of catering outlets, a fun fair, bouncy castle and various other children's activities.
The centenary event marks 100 years of flying at the airfield which opened in 1917 during the First World War. During the Second World War the site was home to a number of first-line squadrons and it played an enormous part in D-Day operations on the South Coast deploying 435 units, the largest number by far than at any other UK airfield on D-Day.
